UNTITLED
Most objects around us are solid. They block our view, limit our perception of the space around us. Trees don’t obscure—they filter. Their limbs and leaves segment space without sealing things off. Branches let light pass, they layer, they create a visual recursion: a window within a window, like a fractal of shifting light and form.
We cut trees, get rid of their limbs, and turn them into rectangles, ready for construction. We reduce them into forms that we can stack, store and control.
This art piece aims to redeem the translucent qualities of the birch that once stood proud.
It reimagines its former freedom through a lattice of depth. It offers layers upon layers and explores the complexity of the reality around us.
