ABOUT JESSE AGTEN

Belgian artist and director Jesse Agten created his first lycra installation in 2012. He explores the endless possibilities of stretched fabric by cutting, stitching and structuring volumes into a range of installations, from tunnels to domes and cocoons.

His installations are quests for symmetry and motion, using ancient geometric patterns and adapting them into organic shapes. By making lycra interact with light, projections and videomapping, the shapes come to life at night. Slowly pulsing, vibrantly radiating or telling magical stories.

Jesse Agten is incisively inspired by new patterns, structures, locations and landscapes. He constantly develops his skills and finds new ways to interact with materials and environments.
